New Turf Dethatcher from Farmec Ireland Ltd.
Posted: 1 February 2002

Farmec Ireland Ltd. has introduced a new three-point linkage mounted turf dethatcher to the market. The FDS 9200 Turf Dethatcher is manufactured in Canada by Woodbay Enterprises, the same company who also build the world-famous Greensiron 3000 turf roller. This new product is suitable for a number of applications including fairway and sports field thatch removal, spreading top dressing and during golfcourse/sportsfield construction and renovation.

The Turf Dethatcher uses spring-loaded tines to avoid catching on obstructions such as tree roots, rocks and other hard objects that may be encountered under the surface. Unlike dethatcher blades, these tines will not be damaged if they come in contact with these types of obstructions. If your existing dethatcher is having problems coping with soil conditions then this could be the solution for you. The tines are made from hardened steel for longer life and are arranged in four free floating sections. The overall working width is 2.36 metres (7'8").

The FDS 9200 Dethatcher is ideal for use after top-dressing to spread out and even out the cover. It can also be used to even out the spread of root zone and other materials during sports fields and golf course construction. It is a versatile an efficient dethatching option for the superintendent or the groundsman.

Weighing only 159 Kgs, the FDS 9200 Turf Dethatcher can be used behind most tractors. The simple three-point linkage and castor wheels makes it easy to connect to the tractor and the free-floating sections are easily raised for transport
